Appearance: Primus is a Shard, as such he takes the form of small crystal. However, in his capacity as the Emperor of the Sith, he dwells within a droid body he can manipulate.



Clothing: Apart from his droid body, the only clothing he wears is his cloak, infused with the dark side using the Natth Cowling technique.

Personality: Primus is sinister and scheming, always considering ways to further the interests of the Sith and himself. Nothing he says can be taken at face value, as he has no morals or scruples to prevent him gaining his goals, as evidenced by his deliberate supernovaing of five populated systems. He is completely cloaked in the power of the dark side and as such, any attempt to read his true intentions will always be futile.

Background: Primus was born under the name Oni on the planet Orax during the Golden Age of the Old Republic approximately three hundred years before Orax was discovered by Republic fleets. From birth, Oni was not the same as the other Shards, while they spent years debating moral issues, he spent years trying to escape his immobility and gain power. Oni was one of the Force-sensitive Shards and he had a much faster thought process than his brethren, such as that when the Republic stumbled upon Orax, Oni had already formed an understanding of the Force beyond that of most Jedi and used his skill to absorb knowledge of the Republic from the explorers that located the planet.

Using his understanding of the Republic, he began hatching a plan to place himself in control. He telepathically influenced the Jedi Master Aqinos into creating the Iron Knights, of which Oni was one. Under Aqinos's guidance, Oni became even more powerful and began to use a droid body. Once he was sufficiently skilled, he went into hiding to await a cataclysmic event around which to base his plan. This cataclysmic event was the Battle of Yavin. From that point on, Oni was on the path to greatness.

He used his tiny size (while in crystal form) to infiltrate ancient libraries and gain knowledge of the dark side. He went to Korriban, Ambria, Vjun, Nom Charios and Ruusan, gaining knowledge of the mighty Force nexes on each, learning of the Natth Cowling technique and being graced enough to contact many deceased Dark Lords who admired his plan, deceptive as it was. He was on Ruusan when Kyle Katarn defeated the Dark Jedi Gorc and Pic and claimed Gorc's lightclub from the wreckage of the Sulon Star. He also obtained the Dark Blade of Ajunta Pall and the lightsabers of Maris Brood and Komari Vosa, as well as numerous other dark side artifacts.

After the fall of Darth Bane's Sith Order he secretly manipulated members of the Imperial Remnant and Palpatine's Dark Jedi, slowly converting them to his cause and using them to begin the construction of his mightiest droid form, all the while become even more skilled in the Force.

In 43 ABY, Oni engineered the exile of Luke Skywalker, his biggest threat. He lured him to Orax and slew him there, absorbing his Force energies. With his new droid body finally complete, he siezed control of the Imperial Remnant and Galactic Federation, due to his secret control over both Natasi Daala and Jagged Fel, and crushed the Confederation, as well as initiating a purge of both the New Jedi Order and Darth Krayt's infant New Sith Order, converting members of both to his cause. As of 48 ABY, after crushing all rebellions of the time, Oni, now Darth Primus, was Emperor of his own Galactic Empire.

Over the next seven years, he supernovaed five systems to create Quixoni crystals rich in the dark side and searched the galaxy for the debris of the Lusankya, a ship with a rich history in both sides of the Force, making it a mobile Force nexus in its own right. His rule was unquestioned, up until 55 ABY.

That year, a Mandalorian uprising claimed a massive chunk of the Empire, a hexagonal chunk from Mandalore to Yaga Minor to Bastion to Mytus VII to Ord Rama to Phindar and back to Mandalore. With the capture of Muunilist, the galactic economy nosedived and the Empire declared war on the Mando'ade. Victories and losses were made on both sides with little gained or lost overall for many years, until the Battle of Bastion in 60 ABY, when Mandalorian forces were crushed by the Sith Military. The victory was shortlived however, as the resurgent Jedi rebellion arrived to save the Mandalorians. The two joined forces and were able to maintain their hold on what was referred to as the Au'mando'ade for two years until an anti-Jedi Manda'lor came to power and banished the rebellion, declaring war on them too. The so-called Jedi Alliance retreated to the Yarith system and a three-way war that often degenerated into guerilla tactics was waged for another year, until, in 63 ABY, a new, unfamiliar force erupted from Wild Space. Calling itself the Umbra Confederacy, it swallowed up systems like a plague, declaring war on the Empire, the Mando'ade and the Jedi Alliance.

In 64 ABY, as war raged across the galaxy, Primus celebrated his quincentennial.
